Digital photo frame, which one?

I would like to buy one between £75 and £100. Any suggestions please?
Which brand to consider and which to avoid? I have a card reader and use an xD card in my camera

  • The Kodak SV-811 isn't bad value, with plenty of features. Dabs have it at £73.98 inc free delivery as do Misco
  • I bought one about 9 months ago from PC world, I can't remember It's name but is was a well known brand. I was very disappointed with it though, the image quality was a bit naff and I had trouble resizing images to fit correctly so I took it back for a refund.

I bought my Mum one for her birthday in August, it was a Kodak, not sure which model but it was on special offer at PC world for about £80. I like it because you can use any type of memory card and it also takes a USB stick, the other good point is it's black and shiney and the pictures look good on a nice black background. I think they are a really good idea, I have scanned some pics of my children and the other grandchildren got my mum and she loves watching the slideshow.

I have not heard of Dabs and Misco, are they OK?

  • Both are well established firms. I use to shop with Dabs before the net came along in the 90s

Dabs is now owned by BT (or so I have heard).
    They're fine.
Misco OK too but bombard you with fliers and mail.
  • Misco have been wholesale suppliers to It companies from before the times when PCs were generally considered a device to be found in the home.

They are part of Systemex group, a NYSE listed company

Neither Misco or Dabs have the kodak 8" frame in stock at the moment. Cheapest Ii can find with stock other than that is £89.99 at Amazon. Anyone know of a cheaper deal on this please?

  • blimey, everyone seems to have sold out. Well, that says one of two things, either it's very good and everyone wants one or it's really bad and nop one wants to stock it
