Non-Fault Car Accident

Not saying he will say this (hopefully hes a honest chap) but he could claim that you drove in the back of him but hopefully he dosent
I personally dont drive without a dash cam anymore after an incident i had on the road where a driver cut me up on a roundabout when i caught up with him at the lights and said "cor that was a bit close you nearly took my front end" to which he said "what you talking about you came into my lane and smiled" a blatant lie, but insurance will go fo 50/50, after that day i drove straight to halfords and bought one, get one it comes in handy“People are caught up in an egotistic artificial rat race to display a false image to society. We want the biggest house, fanciest car, and we don't mind paying the sky high mortgage to put up that show. We sacrifice our biggest assets our health and time, We feel happy when we see people look up to us and see how successful we are”

If somebody contacted your insurer and said "StarMoon rolled back into the front of my car, and admitted it was all his fault", wouldn't you at least want your insurer to confirm that story with you, rather than simply say "Ooops, how silly. Here's several grand."?
Well yes I suppose so.0 -
What was the gap between you when stationary? Just you say a slight incline. I live in an area with a lot of hills - some very steep. So I've seen my fair share of accidents in similar circumstances. The damage is never anywhere near what you describe unless the car is able to travel enough distance to gain momentum.
Its usually the result of stalling (not being used to the hills - I've always said they're good for learning clutch control!) rather than anyone reversing though
Reversing tends to be done by crash cash scammers at roundabouts I believe. I also thought that most more modern cars (modern as in last 20 years or so) have the lift thingy (don't know the name!) so you don't go into reverse by accident? You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
as far as i know any excess is paid once repairs are completed to release the vehicle from the repairers0

Unfortunately when you chose a policy with a £500 excess that meant that you have to pay a £500 excess on any claim. Effectively what you've told your insurer is you can't afford to pay the excess and then let them try and reclaim it for you, so they have told you to go to the other party's insurer and claim from them.
Which is a lot harder than it sounds.
Personally I would pay the £500 even if you have to take out a loan to do so, and then make sure that your insurer's claim it back for you, or get a claims management company to do so. It will be a lot less hassle in the short medium and long term.0
