Problems moving house following switch

Good afternoon
I am struggling as I signed up to switch to E-On a few weeks ago before the price hikes with a view to moving house and taking my tariff with me (it was advertised by MSE as portable). However I have now moved but E-On are saying my tariff isn't portable and I have to take it up with MSE. I'm not sure what to do as it says my switch is "in progress" so I can't update my address. Can anybody help please?

No tariffs are truly portable..
When you move you HAVE to sign up with the existing supplier of the new property but once you've done that you can start a switch to your chosen provider..
Once you leave the old property the old account has to be finalised .0 -
Take on a property and you are in a deemed contract with the existing supplier .
Day one you register with them and are then free to move .
You would need to ask Energy Club about your portable claim .0 -

Hello Richard and hope the move went well.
Is this the E.ON Fix 2 Year MSE Collective Feb 2019? Porting this tariff is only possible in certain circumstances. Mainly, staying in the same region; similar metering set-up to the property being vacated; moving to a property we supply; the original account is fully closed; and staying as dual fuel or electricity only.
If you meet these conditions, the transfer needs to go through a specific online route looked after by our specialist Home Moves team (contact details are on our website and they're also available through the online Live Chat service).
I'm sorry our advisor told you to take it up with MSE. This was the wrong advice. As above, provided you meet the above conditions, this is something we need to do.
Hope you've settled in to your new home Richard.
