Outfox the Marklet suddenly demanding stupid money?!

I joined Outfox the Market in April 2018 and really need advice as when I spoke to them on 23rd January I was in credit by £230.24. Since swapping over to the my new gas/electric supplier, they now tell me I owe them £1,625 as this is based on the reading my new supplier has given them?!
They have always been chopping and changing their tariffs even though I signed up to a fixed tariff (apparently they can make up the rules and contracts done apply). I’ve paid regular monthly payments already with them and now they are implying I owe about £135 per month when I was with them? - this is impossible. To set the scene, I live on my own in a town house and work full time so really not in the house that often therefore I find it impossible to believe I’ve accrued so much “debt” with them where just before I said I wanted to leave them, they said I was in credit.
When I spoke to them, they just kept coming back with a blanket response of “you need to raise this dispute with your new supplier as this is based on the metre reading they gave us” and that’s it.
Has anyone got advice on this? I don’t know enough about how these so called scammers work but I’m so worried now.

When you switched to your new supplier surely you gave them the meter reading when asked.
Is that the reading the old supplier is using for the final bill.
They are correct it is the new suppler who controls the switch.0 -
Yes I provided my new supplier with my new meter readings straight away.
When I spoke to Outfox in Feb they said all was fine and they would credit me in April with what they owed me. (They couldn't pay out for 6 weeks or something).0 -
You need to collect detailed information here: -
1. your record of meter readings given to your new supplier
2. the meter readings that your old and new suppliers are working from (bills?)
Historic meter readings supplied/used by Outfox will also be useful.
Without this detail and the calculations you can make with them, you are just howling the the wind (and nobody can help you).
Also, if you signed up to a fixed tariff with your new supplier and you have documents to prove it, then complain to them. Fixed is fixed. Your monthly direct debit, however, is not fixed, it's the unit and daily charges that are.0
