Flat service charge when buying part way through year

I am in the final stages of buying a leasehold flat (supposed to be exchanging today, completing tomorrow), which has a service charge payable as per all flats.
The seller's solicitor got in contact yesterday afternoon to ask if we were OK to pay our portion of the service charge (from the day we complete until 31 December) directly to the seller, because they will be paying the full balance on the account. At the moment the only evidence we have is from March, that they have paid 3 month's service charge up until April.
I'm not keen on paying money directly to the seller, and would rather pay our portion of the service charge directly to the management company... would I be able to get in contact with the management company and get a seperate invoice for our portion of the service charge?
My only worry of paying the seller directly is that they actually haven't paid off the account, and we have to pay double!
Would appreciate any prompt guidance/advice - thanks

The solicitors usually sort this out between them.0

Normally your solicitor would pay the relevant portion of the service charge to the seller on completion, on your behalf.would I be able to get in contact with the management company and get a seperate invoice for our portion of the service charge?
It's very unlikely that the management co would agree to that.
Management cos generally will only do what the lease requires them to do - and what you describe won't be mentioned in the lease.0
