Purchasing a motor home and Ebay
Hello.
I think this is a scam. I have been using ebay for years, buying and selling - including vehicles. However, this is the first time I have seen this . I am avoiding giving my details and now have received this. Does anyone think this is legitimate?
Thanks
The motorhome is already at the shipping company. All documents are on my name. The shipping is free because i supposed to ship the motorhome to another buyer, then he told me that he don't have money to pay for it. He already paid the shipping charges.
I have a contract with eBay so this deal must go through them. I'm very busy with my job ( I'm a surgeon ) so I can't meet in person with you so this is the reason why I chose to sell my motorhome over the Internet. According with the eBay you have 3 days from the time you receive the motorhome to inspect it and decide if you want to keep it or not.
Here is how it will work:
1. First of all I will need the following details from you:
-Full name, shipping address and phone no.
2. After I will receive the details from you, I will forward them to eBay.
3. After they will process your info, they will send us both more information about how we can complete this transaction. They will contact you regarding the shipping process and the arrival time.
4. eBay will start the shipping process and it will take up to 48 hours for you to receive the motorhome. After you receive the motorhome you will have 3 days to test, verify and do whatever you need to the motorhome.
5. If you decide not to buy the motorhome, then eBay will ship the motorhome back to me (and you won't be charged for this). If you wish to make the transaction, please send me the necessary info so that we can proceed. I look forward to hear from you.

Just getting a second opinion. If I didn't already know this, I would have given my bank details and inside leg measurement by now..
I will carry on the conversation to see where it goes.Still striving to be mortgage free before I get to a point I can't enjoy it.

You say you have been using eBay for years and selling cars- yet needed a second opinion on this, I am rather surprised. Even an eBay novice should realise that eBay is just a third party hosting site, they don't facilitate sales or involve themselves with any form of payment holding.
This form of common scam predates even eBay, it used to be done via small ads or via gumtree and I'm always surprised to see scumbag scammers still trying it. It's always worth highlighting these scams here and on other boards if only to warn and protect other newbies to eBay.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. There is poor English and there is non-native English. Plenty of people are second-language English speakers and are perfectly honest, but in an eBay listing it is definitely a sign to be extra cautious. Most of these scams originate a long way from the UK.The shipping is free because i supposed to ship the motorhome to another buyer
According with the eBay
After I will receive the details from you
After they will process your info
I look forward to hear from you.
The writer's first language is one that forms the future tense very differently from English.
Just an observation. If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.0 -
I'd cut off all contact with them ASAP.
Some of these scammers are very nasty people.0 -
