How often do you supply readings?
Options
How often do you supply readings for your electric, gas and water? (If you have a water meter).
This is really for those who pay by Direct Debit.
I have just switched to Atlantic, who have set up a direct debit which I feel is on the 'low' side for what we will be using (although not *too* far out).
They have told me to submit readings online on a 'regular basis' so that they can adjust the direct debit accordingly, so I don't build up arrears or a huge credit balance.
The meters are all in the property and very easy to read, and it takes about a minute to supply them online.
So, how often do you submit? Quaterly? Monthly? Weekly?

As often as you like! More often to start with, and as the usage trend develops less often. Try weekly for a month or two, then monthly for a quarter then quarterly. That should build up a fairly accurate profile, suppliers can adjust for seasonal changes.
There's no rule how often, the more you submit the more accurate and up to date your bills will be, but don't worry about missing a few readings.0 -
You should supply readings whenever they send you a bill. They will then use this to rebill you to and include it in any further estimation of your bill & DD. This makes their estimates more accurate and helps when you change suppler if a Deemed reading is required because the DC can see your consumption pattern over the previous year.
Honestly, Suppliers will record your readings inbetween quarters but may not actually use them in future calculations. Not all Suppliers have systems that handle that. However, for your records at least, it would be good.:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0
