Hey people, so January this year I closed an account with virgin media, in March it still showed as opened and not settled, so I contacted them, they told me it would be updated ASAP.
April, it was still open, so I disputed it via Equifax, and within a day it was updated as settled in December (wrong), but still January and February it was ‘open’
I raised a second Dispute, which amended it to be settled in January, this was updated last Friday, as settled in January, and March and April also showed closed.
Checked my file today, it now shows open again since feb/March/April.
Now I’m not one to complain, but every time this opens and closes it is adversely affecting my credit file.
I’ve contacted virgin multiple times and they say they’ll sort it, should I take it to the FOS this time around as it has been reopened and closed 3 times in the past 2 months , meaning it’s wrongly updated ?
Thanks!

It won't adversely affect your file, as it's the same account.
You'll need to get their final stance on it, or a deadlock letter, before going to FOS (or ICO).0 -

Hi,
If you have not done so already, then make a written complaint to Virgin. Then if they are unable arrive at a satisfactory resolution, you would escalate to the ICO (not the FOS). It is ICO, because the complaint is about information being accurately recorded on your credit file.I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.
I love my job0 -
It’s made an adverse affect because it keeps saying ‘new credit agreements opened’0

But that's not an adverse effect. That's a CRA doing their thing.
It's not a new account or credit agreement.0 -
ZX81 , I don't think your quite understanding, IT is ABSOLUTELY adversely affecting me.
My total borrowing is going up, Then down, Then up, Then down, Credit agreements are being added each month, then removed, then re added.
Meaning my history showing im opening then closing accounts, Also searches are being made against me by them every time they re open it.
I wouldn't say it was adversely affecting me if it wasn't.
EDIT: it is a new account and agreement, when its closed, then re opened.0 -
It's not adversely affecting it - it's a minor PITA if anything - nothing adverse or extreme.
Write a complaint and if not satisfied by that route then go to the ICO.0 -
Massive PITA indeed!0
