European Train Travel

Hi Guys,
My wife and I are due to meet friends in Budapest for the 20th August of this year and we have a fortnight booked off (full week before).
We want to hop through Europe on the train, taking our time to arrive in Budapest, and then return back to Leeds, UK.
I am really struggling to find where I can get tickets from on the internet. You hear that you can get cheap train travel within Europe, but where would I locate these sites?
Any tips, advice would be much appreciated
Cheers
Steve

Seat61.com
The man in seat 61 offers a lot of good advice about rail travel. We were glad of the advice when we traveled a few years ago.0 -
Don’t ignore the advantages of CIV https://www.seat61.com/UKconnections.htm#London%20International%20CIV
Allow enough time for your passport to be checked at Paris, Brussels or Lille on the return to the UK.
Don’t forget that some sleeper carriages can be very good and you can save time and money on hotels.
The https://www.bahn.com/en/view/index.shtml website can be very good for train times.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
Or get an Interrail ticket and go wherever you fancy, that would give you far more flexibility than booked tickets.

A fun site, but when it comes to finding the best place to buy tickets I would rather use Seat 61.0
