A silly question?

So... I have received my formal mortgage offer in post (Hoorayyy!!)

I thought I would need to sign and return but at the back the papers where there are dots to be signed, they say “copy-please do not sign and return”. So do I not need to return them? I just don’t get how I accept it as it says I have 10 days. My solicitor says when I receive papers just sign and send back but this was earlier on before I got them.??

Usually your Solicitor will send you a mortgage deed to sign, they then send this to the lender and this along with drawing down the mortgage on completion is your acceptance of the mortgage and it’s terms and conditions etc

Does anything the Halifax has sent to you say they want you to sign and return something to the Halifax? What does it actually say about the 10 days? As above, I'd expect you to sign the Standard Security which your solicitor will send/hand to you, I wouldn't have thought it normal to be signing anything else.
