I will mostly be working and doing chores today :( I have 2 self employment roles and will mostly be on my laptop today. I need to complete a task by start of play Tuesday. The upside is that I can then submit my invoice!
I need to do a medium shop in Mr T; hopefully can find my £5 off voucher first. DD1 and I have decided we need to get a grip of our health so I am going to meal plan the week ahead and make a shopping list - after checking the freezer. I want to make tomato sauce to go with spag bol and DD1 likes it with chicken.
I need to return some jeans to M£S - I bought 2 pairs to give me options so will return one pair.
HOpe everyone has a good day and gets the chance to enjoy the sun! I'm having a day out tomorrow hence focus on work today

    Evening all :)
Blissful sunny warm day. Went for a long walk with DD2 and the little ones, through a lovely nature reserve and old churchyard, near town centre (very small town). When we got back I put old washing up bowls of water on an old carpet on the patio for them to wash / play with their toys. Had to laugh at little 16 month old GS. He initially burst into tears when GD splashed him, but soon after that climbed right in to one of the bowls, and didn't want to come out :rotfl:DD was surprised, as he hasn't really played with water before. But I don't think there has ever been a small child, anywhere, who doesn't like to play with a bowl of water :rotfl:A free afternoon of entertainment right there :)
    Apart from that:
    Not much....

    Free HG fruit with breakfast
Made a loaf in the BM

Low spend day, just a few food bits and a small toy for GD
BBQ in the garden for dinner, used meat from the freezer, and HG salad leaves and chives :)

A boring but useful day here chez Deni. Ploughing on with work but stopping now to make raspberry bakewell sponge for picnic with friend tomorrow :) And to have my tea!
Have done a medium shop in Mr T - found vouchers so got £6 off and triple points and additional points on certain items - very pleased with that. Also returned jeans to M£S. Bought 2 tops in Mr S as 20% off clothing but returning at least one if not both. Stuck to my list (apart from tops from Mr S - eek!) and have meal planned in my head but will write down before the week starts on Monday.
Washing on line and leaving it there overnight!
    take care all

Morning frugal pals. Hope everyone is ok. Another glorious day, safe to say, plenty of time will be spent outside. Few things to do today:

Load of washing, peg out :T
    Meals from stores
Portion up a big tray of mince I bought yesterday
    Go for a run
    Continue tidying the garden
Water some plants, particularly those in tubs
    Possible bike ride later
Do the cabinets as didn't get round to it yesterday

Have a good day all. Purps.

Hot cross buns were reduced at Aldi last night, so I bought me a pack. Very cross (get it??) this morning, as I popped one in the toaster, and it burnt - and not just a little bit. I hate wasting food!! Need to remember to turn the toaster down a notch next time.

Busy, fun day ahead - I'm spending the morning as the Easter Bunny's little helper (handing out Easter trails and then chocolate eggs on completion of the trail). I have my own ears, and will get my face painted too!! This afternoon I'll be back to my 'normal' volunteering role in the House (complete with ears and face paint) - I suspect I'll be glad to get out of the sun. A nice problem to have!! As on Friday, I don't get paid, but I do get to spend a whole day in a lovely place - and it's great fun. It was lovely - lots of happy smiley people, and I finished off the afternoon sitting in the sun, watching the ducklings on the duck pond, and eating an ice cream. Simple pleasures!!

Need to get a load of washing in the machine now, so I have chance to get it on the line before I leave, and it'll be dry by the time I get home. I'm away for the next 3 days so need to get the washing turned around today. Fabulous drying day!! Bring it on! Washing snuff dry. Just about to put another load in this evening as I think it'll dry before bedtime!!

Have a lovely day, enjoy the sunshine but don't forget the sunscreen.

    Happy Easter Frugal Friends,
A little bit of spending yesterday as travelled to remove final items from Mum's house before meeting family for lunch. I have so little family. They have to be treasured. I remembered to take my 10% off voucher for our meal which made a difference to the bill.
Today won't involve any spending at all. It's gloriously sunny. Mr f is going to roast lamb. I have got breadcrumbs out of the freezer & will pick fresh herbs to make stuffing. Dessert is a use-it-up..... I always freeze the boozy fruit from making my blackberry & apple gin and plan to heat it up with a little extra sugar & serve atop meringue nests with Skyr.
I shall enjoy reading my book (a freebie) & pottering around the garden.
Tomorrow will be different as we have a major gardening day planned.
    Spring Blessings to all,

Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!

  • Morning guys :D Happy Easter to you all. Glorious day here. Nice to have oh off as often it's either me and madam or him and madam. Yesterday we went for our mega walk and it ended up being about 4.5 hours! I think it broke us all including the dog! So not much of my list from yesterday completed!

    Today

I came down to our house being  have started the clear up. Need to carry on & finish

will go to a free easter egg hunt at local pub. It's a fair walk so that takes care of pup's first walk!

cut out fabric & make cardi

    CV

hopefully go to the allotment for an hour

must message customer about collecting item for repair. done. She is dropping in tomorrow

dinner will be pork tenderloin defrosted (and not had) yesterday, with veg in ;)

quick shower & leave hair (except fringe) to dry naturally

load of washing in machine and will hang out

Need to do a quick repair job for someone. Shouldn't take more than 20 mins once I do it!

Hopefully we will spend an hour starting to declutter the garage. It is awful! Will list some things for sale as we do....

Ok that's more than enough for one day!

    Evening all :)
Lovely day again today, but it is very dry for the time of year  I gather it is supposed to rain and get cooler next week, though it is nice to have a sunny Bank Holiday weekend :)
Went to 2 markets this morning early, looking for stock for my business. Got a few bits :)
Small spend of our 'own' money on broad bean plants (most of mine got destroyed by - I think - mice) and some suitable, secondhand pots for my chilli plants. Spent all of £2.30 :)
Spent most of the rest of the day in the garden - planted broad beans, planted out some lettuce, did some watering etc :)
My dwarf quince tree is in full bloom and is beautiful :)
We had chicken and chorizo casserole made the other day for dinner, with a jacket potato :)
Shower and earlyish night as we have planned to go to more markets / boot sales tomorrow morning :)

Back to the parents' today, staying for a couple of days, and my son is coming up too - really looking forward to it, as I don't see him too often (he's a 5 hour drive away). Need to remember to wrap the gifts - his birthday is on Saturday, and my daughter-in-law's was last week.

I've bought very little, food-wise, for this week, and made sure that everything that could go off in the next three days (particularly if it continues to be warm) is either in the fridge or in the freezer. I also need to remember to switch my TV off at the wall. We had a power outage earlier in the week, and when the power came back on, the TV came on! Even though it had been off when the power went off!! Really don't want that happening while I'm away, and coming back to a TV that's been on for potentially 3 days!! I think it probably goes into stand-by mode if it's been on for a few hours, but I've never had it on long enough for that to happen, so I'm not sure if it does or not!! Simplest is just to knock it off at the wall.

Right, my morning tea has been drunk, and I need to be setting off in a couple of hours - and I haven't packed yet.

Enjoy the Bank Holiday. Remember - Easter eggs don't go off. How long can you make yours last??
