Life Assured

Options
Hi.

I took out a mortgage through the Halifax 10 years ago and was told that as it finished after I had retired I needed to take out a Life Assured Policy to cover me in case I died.

I don’t really understand PPI and wondered if this would be eligible to claim for under PPI?

Thank you

You can only claim on life assurance if you die, so did you die?

    Life assurance is life assurance

    PPI is PPI

Asking if life assurance is like PPI is like asking if bread is like bananas, 2 different products. If you had to have life assurance to get the mortgage then it cannot be miss-sold.

    Time to move on

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

PPi is a product. Life assurance is a different product. You cannot be "eligible" for PPI on a life assurance policy.
