This link gives a good explanation:

Has anyone had any success with this system? I think they've only just become accessible to Brits. The jobs seem quite hard, and its badly paid. :mad:Advent Challenge: Money made: £0. Days to Christmas: 59.0

I'd like to hear any experiences also - I got an email this morning accepting me for it, I must've applied sometime last year. Nice to know they've finally opened up to the UK.0

I did some about 2 years ago. Brits were allowed to do it then.
They are basically small tasks for pennies and lots of them.
They have some crowdflower tasks also.
At the time when I was doing them, they paid in amazon usa vouchers and so it became not worth the bother because the difference in price and the shipping costs meant money didnt go very far.0 -
The name comes from a fake chess-playing robot in the 1770's! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Turk
It now refers to a task that appears to be automatic, but is really done under the covers by a human. Jobs could be things like manual OCR and are generally broken into really small tasks earning very little each time - but you might do several each minute0 -
1770s? I felt sure it was a Renaissance thing. You live and learn.Advent Challenge: Money made: £0. Days to Christmas: 59.0

Well, I looked on their website, but I mean it must be illegal. A number of tasks pay nothing and large majority pay 0.05 cents. You might as well do Clixsense if you want to work for that! Of course, in order to get to the high paying tasks you'd have to work your way through these. I'm sure there are people desperate enough to gain experience that they will work for free.Minimalist

Sadly, this is still the case...How do I get paid?
U.S. Workers:
You can transfer your earnings to your Amazon Payments account or into an Amazon.com gift card. You can disburse to your bank account as soon as your earnings are transferred to your Amazon Payments account.
India Workers:
You have the option to receive a direct deposit denominated in Indian Rupees into your bank account or you can transfer your earnings into an Amazon.com gift card.
Other International Workers:
You can only transfer your earnings into an Amazon.com gift card.

That's a shame, I already do Crowdflower, UHRS/Clickworker and Microworkers so would have been interested in this.0 -
So, despite the payments being in Amazon US credit, has anybody given a go at Mturk? I might still use US credit as I order a lot of supplements from the US.0
