Gas safety inspection surveyor ?

I rent from a housing association and a bloke came 4 weeks to carry out my annual gas safety inspection everything was fine and signed the form and he left.

On Friday I get a call from the housing association about gas servicing and explained that someone came to do it 4 weeks ago. She then said we need to make a new appointment for a surveyor to attend the property to make sure the work was carried OK. Surely this wouldn't be needed as the original bloke should of been up to standard .

Is this normal ? ( I know of surveyors coming to inspect work after a major build or the installation of a full boiler etc )

The people who inspect gas installations are human and humans make mistakes.
The HA are doing what every good LL should do (in my opinion) and checking up occasionally on the people they employ.
I would rather be in your position, I am a home owner who has to do their own due diligence with people I employ.

Is it a follow-up to the safety inspection, or is it for a service? They're not the same thing.

Gas safe engineers will sometimes have their work checked as part of remaining registered, it's nothing to worry about.
