Credit report help please!

Hi everyone!

I had a debt with Shop Direct Group (Very) the debt was sold to Lowell and I paid it all off in January via my DMP with Stepchange. I’ve had a letter from Lowell confirming it’s all paid. My credit report still shows that this debt as Shop Direct Group and as the balance as £2140 and as no payments being made.

I called Shop Direct Group to query this and was told by them it’s because I still owed that amount to them when it was passed on. If that’s the case, shouldn’t my credit report show the debt as being with Lowell and payments being made?

As long as its marked settled/satisfied, that's fine.

Ask them to do it if not.

If Lowell purchased the debt from Very then the balance should be zero and marked as closed

I had the same issue with the same companies only a few weeks ago.

Very sold my account to Lowell, but both were still updating the account each month.

I emailed Very and it was sorted pretty quickly. They removed the account from my file and its now showing up once with Lowell.
