So after various mishaps, touchwood, I'll shortly be due my renewal with 3 years ncd, which is the most I've had.

I understand its at this point which insurers allow you to protect?

I usually use a comparison site eg gocompare and have never seen a 'protect ncb' box. Is this because I've never had enough years? Or is that box visible when directed to the insurers website?

And how much extra is protection? 10‰?

You will need to search for any Insurers who will protect 3 years NCD (or see if a local broker can help)

You usually need 4 years to be offered protection

No set percentage increase for this

Do dummy quotes online and you will be offered protection option where you can see the cost to get an idea if you can find online companies offering protection on 3 years
