B&Q diamond discount card

As I understood it the pensioners discount card was now restricted to mainly Garden goods, if this is still the case why did I get discount on all the items I bought on Wednesday this week ? This included paint and building materials.

That cashier made a mistake, my partner works at B&Q and the rule is very much still garden only.

Surprised that the cashier has that sort of control in this day and age, would have thought the scan of the card would have confirmed the discount as it does if you shop any other day but Wednesday.

You would think so but I am inclined to believe that their systems are outdated and need updating, they still don't have contactless in the two near me, not sure about elsewhere.

Just tried to get a diamond discount card in store and was told I needed to phone them!  Emailed them and received a reply back saying that this is no longer open to new customers!
