Win! Tickets To The Rye International Jazz & Blues Festival
Performing during May at St Mary’s Church in Rye will be Sergio Mendes, Madeleine Peyroux and Jimmy Webb – and we’ve got three pairs of tickets to give away!
For more than 900 years the Parish Church of Rye, dedicated to St Mary the Virgin, has dominated the hill on which the old town stands – and 2019 sees the church play host to a series of Rye International Jazz & Blues Festival concerts.
• Kicking off the star-studded line-up on Friday 3rd May is the legendary ‘Godfather’ of Brazilian music and bossa nova Sergio Mendes when he will be performing with his full band in an exclusive intimate show. Tickets are priced £65 and £75, doors open at 7pm, concert starts 8pm.
• On Saturday 4th May, the festival is delighted to present the highly-acclaimed American jazz singer Madeleine Peyroux – whose new album, Anthem, is produced and co-written by Larry Klein – when she will perform as part of a trio. Tickets are priced £60, plus booking fee, doors open at 7pm, concert starts 8pm.
• Rounding off an impressive weekend line-up on Sunday 5th May is an evening with Jimmy Webb and special guests, the multi award-winning jazz singer-songwriters Ian Shaw and Liane Carroll. Whatever one’s preferred genre of music, chances are there’s a Jimmy Webb song on your personal playlist. Tickets are priced £50, plus booking fee, doors open at 7pm, concert starts 8pm.0
