Hello, firstly thankyou for having me on this forum.
I have been trying to cliam back my mortgage PPI covered by norwich union way back in 1996. my issue is neither norwich union or aviva that own norwich union will help me.
i took my mortgage out throu an estate agent underwritten by the sequence group owned by RSA. in 2003 connels bought the group at a loss.
I have gone round in circles trying to get my answers as to who will give me my money back i have bank statements to prove i made these payments for over 4 years.
the estate agent managed everything from mortgage, life insurance, endowment, ppi on mortgage, house insurance infact the only thing they didnt insure was the cat.
anybody got any advice before i give this job to one of them firm. i would really hate to do that but i dont think i can cope with the run around they are giving me. i have managed to file all my other cases using resolver but it wont reconise this ppi.
thanks in advance

Your claim is against whoever sold you the policy but given this was pre regulation your chances are nil.0

No-one will give you your money back, you bought from an unregulated firm which no longer exist which was bought by a firm which itself was not regulated at the time. It doesn't matter that you can prove it, your complaint is over.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
And,...you dont get it back just because you paid it.
Time to move onmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

Aviva is Norwich Union. It was a rebrand. not a purchase.I have gone round in circles trying to get my answers as to who will give me my money back i have bank statements to prove i made these payments for over 4 years.
No-one will give the money back. Firstly, that isnt how the PPI complaints issue works. Secondly, you bought nearly a decade before regulation and the estate agents would not have been regulated at that time.anybody got any advice before i give this job to one of them firm.
You give up and stop wasting your time as its a pre-regulation made by a company that was not regulated at the time.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Do note further to the above, if you employ a CMC and they find you have already complained and (correctly) been rejected as a pre-regulation case they will probably charge you for wasting their time
Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Just a note .. I am being refunded from 1997 to present day .. pre regulation in that time period. The party involved stating their code of ethics before regulation meant they didn't have to but would refund.0

Same retailer as the OP?
Remember that pre-reguation does not apply to all distribution channels. Banks, building societies, most card providers and a number of others have to go back to much earlier dates.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
