GDPR hasn't stopped ambulance chasers

I had an accident last week, not my fault, other driver stepped and admitted liability, everything was fine.
Since then I have had lots of telephone calls from Accident Claim Aftercare and a Road Traffic (?) company telling me that I am entitled to claim for minor discomfort. The money has been put aside, all I have to do is claim it, and for my passengers too. They ask me if the insurance company have made me aware of it? They are very persuasive, telling me that there is a scientific study that shows I would have had discomfort from my seat belt. (It was a very minor collision.)
So, I let them talk me into it, they even use my kids, so expensive, couldn't you do with the money?
From there they put you through to Simple Legal Solutions, who then pass you on to NextGen Solicitors who send you a link to follow in order to sign so they can begin the claim. I don't sign, I read the documents that you can find if you look. It is not for people like me who have already paid a premium for legal cover. It covers claims for psychological discomfort not just the whiplash that they try and convince you to exaggerate. It also asks you to agree to pay for an inurance policy to cover the legal fees if you are not successful, it is almost £300. There is no amount set aside as suggested by the people who initially called me.
I have saved the documents but, unfortunately don't know how to remove my personal information from them.
In the documents from the solicitor I found an address to complain to so I did that and I hope they have removed me from their database as they promised.
However, when I dropped off my car to be repaired I had 2 further calls from companies who knew that I had dropped off my car that day.
I have contacted the insurance company and the car hire company, no one admits to giving my data to these people. I have blocked the numbers who called me on my telephone and also reported them to the ICO, but I would like to know who is responsible.
I am sure I will hear from some more people trying to convince me to make a fraudulent claim but now I am prepared for them.

I keep them on the line for as long as possible. They dont usually want to ring back after I have wasted 20 minutes of their time.
They are less likely to hit their daily targets if they are chatting to meCensorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
