Sending email from abroad - can someone tell where sent from?

Hi
This may sound odd, but wonder if anyone knows:
If I send an email from abroad (using wifi) is there any way that a tech savvy recipient of the email could know/find out (a) that I'm abroad when the email is sent and (b) which country it is sent from?
Many thanks!

In 99% of cases, whenever i've used different email providers the recipient has never known where it was from.
Email doesn't function like a phone number whereby you have a different extension according to your locale.
Nothing to worry about, if you do regular emails to clients then you may want to make sure you're doing them in normal business GMT hours?
Hope that helps.0 -

Its ok. Just email your employer and say your still sick and bedridden so still unable to work.:rotfl::rotfl:The world is not ruined by the wickedness of the wicked, but by the weakness of the good. Napoleon0 -
In theory there are many things that are sent with an email including information about where it originated from, but in practice this can be misleading as some emails are routed around the world and it is easy to manipulate this data.
So to summarise a)possibly b)possibly.
Maybe some more information about what you are trying to achieve / hide might mean you get a better answer.0 -
Depends how you send it.
Emails have header information which shows the route it took (so if you send it form your phone, it shows phone -> your server -> recipient server + any additional steps that were needed to deliver the mail.) The address registered for your phone MAY be geographical and can be looked up to an ISP which may give the country away.
If you send via web though (e.g. go to outlook.com and send from there) then the origin is the web site, and only the web logs (which the recipient doesn't have access to) will show where the visitor to the web site came from. (Caveat that some webmail providers will redirect to a local server for better speed of access, and that local server may give away the location).0 -

Yes, I think a tech savvy person can tell by - time and may be date format.0
