Cavity Wall Insulation Claims

Hey,

I was wondering if anyone has successfully claimed via a Cavity Wall claims company? And if so who did you use?

I have contacted CIGA about it but bizarrely they don't seem to be accepting responsibility even though I have sent them pretty clear evidence of the damage the cavity wall has caused. I have owned the house for 30+ years and have never had any of these issues until the cavity wall was installed. I am from Lancashire.

Thanks
Rob

If you feel you have a complaint reason, do it yourself directly with your evidence, don't pay leeches to do something that you can do yourself

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

No claim company can do anymore than you've done yourself. Make your contact into a formal complaint and see what happens.

Advertising here is not allowed, so any mention of particular claim companies will be spam.

I just thought someone might have used a company that was successful and genuine. As all I seem to come across from research online is for companies not to use. They can do more than I can, if they're experts in this field.

Please private message me if anyone has been through the claim process.

Its really stressing me out, I am embarrassed to let my friends and family even visit me anymore as the house is a mess and bordering on health hazard. Thanks to all the damp the CW installation has caused.

I've lived in my house for 32 years, I had Cavity Wall Insulation a number of years ago, I've never had any issues ? How can you prove it was caused by the insulation ?

That accounts for the full list of companies.

Your first mistake is thinking claims firms are experts, they aren't. They employ minimum wage students and house wives who are on commission to sign people up. They send off generic template complaints that may or may not relate to your case and hope something sticks.

Your second mistake is thinking they can do something you can't do - they can't. They use the same complaints process you do and rely on you to provide all the information then keep a chunk of any refund.

They are only "expert" at relieving you of lots of money.

Are you really inviting personal spam?

I strongly advise you to ignore any and all private messages you receive on this subject.

    Experts lol.

They are no qualifications required. Most employ bored mums and students on a sales basis. i.e. paid to get people to sign up.

The complaints prcess is regulated by the FCA and free of charge to use. All the CMCs do is send your complaint using their version of the FOS template to the complaints address of the firm (that you would do if you were doing it). They then sit back and do nothing unless you win your complain. Then they bill you thousands for the bit of paper, envelope and a stamp.

No expertise at all. Indeed, the FOS have said that claims companies have a lower success rate than personal complaints.
