Energy kwh query

I am currently looking at switching energy supplier which I do each year.
All I want to know is every year from advice taken by the mse energy club to do a comparison by usage of kwh for both gas and electric.
I have done this every year no problem however my current supplier (Great North Energy) have said they cannot give me an accurate usage as I haven't been with them a year and can only give me an estimate for just under 4 months but not from May 30th until November 23rd.
This is where it gets slightly complicated. I joined them on May 30th, however I purchased a property and moved in there Nov 23rd but had to temporarily switch to EDF energy as they supplied the old address. I didn't get my supply back until December 17th as there wasn't time to port it over as I only got my move in date the week prior.
What I am wanting to know is it not possible for them to work this out and if not am I better seeing what I have paid and work it out.
Every other supplier I have asked they have been able to do this for me even if I haven't been with them a year.
Thank you

Yes, you just use your own meter reading to apportion usage over 365 days. You should never use the suppliers estimate. Hopefully you took monthly reading making such a thing simlpe.0

I am also querying this with EDF but they are saying they can only provide an estimated readings as I was only with them for a few weeks. is this correct?
Subject to always sending regular readings should they be able to provide the information I need for my usage to do a comparison?0 -
Basically i just shove an average in the check and only look at actual prices not estimated DD or estimated usage .
I only want to know unit and standing charge prices .0
