O/S Daily Friday 12th April 2019

This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Morning everyone

Hugs to those that want/need one, those who are poorly and those looking after a poorly person x

Happy birthday to those with a birthday x

DH up and gone to work stupid early, and DS1 now getting ready for work.

Now light, dry and a bit of a frost to start the day.

Dinner last night was beef casserole, dumplings, mash, cabbage, broc and peas, casserole had lovely flavour. Tonight we be usual throw in oven quick dinner.

Yesterday I was quite productive, I got done what I wanted and just have the food shopping and ironing to do today. I'll probably spend some time on here and some time shredding as we seem to have accumulated a pile of paperwork again. I keep thinking I should go paperless for all the bills etc, but have a fear of what happens when the pc goes down or doesn't work etc! I'm sure there's a way - I just need to find it and make it work for me.

I'll be heading to the SM first thing to do the food shopping, I especially want to get there early today as it's the school holidays so will be quiet first thing and then manic later - want to be well clear of the place by then!

Keep safe and well x

Beautiful sunshine this morning, the washing should dry outside. I'll have to water the allotment, we haven't had any rain all week!

I got home about 6.30 yesterday, a great couple of days away with glorious sunshine and fantastic scenery. Getting home was a little slow with rush hour traffic but it could have been worse.

Must do some shopping, the fridge is looking very 'white'!

RR - that sounds like a day from hell, I can't stand all those creepy creatures!

Happy Friday all, take care. XX

    Morning :)

Icy first thing this morning but gone now leaving another beautiful sunny blue sky :j

Good work day yesterday my [STRIKE]victims[/STRIKE] delegates were lovely. No taff there is only coffee in the flask but I have to say drinking the whole litre when I got there was maybe a not a great plan as the caffeine made me feel very odd.

Finished the fish pie last so another dig around this morning has produced one of my chicken kievs so that with chips and salad for later. working tonight and have a lot of paperwork to do today so I will probably be AWOL from Friday tidy.

Hope you all have a spectacular Friday

    Good morning folks.

It's very sunny outside though still cold. It's going home day! :j Only really overnight (or two nights) though it means a lot.

DM has already sent me a text this morning to say she feels better today so here's hoping that it continues.

My only plans are to go home, spend an evening with my friends, drink wine, eat a takeaway and sleep in my own bed.

Thoughts to the MIA and those struggling.

I hope that everyone has a lovely time too. Happy [STRIKE]Saturday[/STRIKE] to all.FRIDAY :(
  • Morning chums,

I left work at a reasonable time yesterday, headed straight home and made my cauliflower mac 'n' cheese which was nice, but not quite as filing as the real deal. Football training was a good run around but I didn't play as well as I could have, frustrating. Given it finishes at 10pm by the time I'm home and showered it's well past my bed time but my hearts still racing, so I took my time, tidied up and read my book for a bit. It helped.

No gym this morning, but I'll head after work today for a while. Also just realised I forgot to take a chicken breast out the freezer for my dinner tonight, damn!! No plans for this evening, so I'll have a relaxed one to myself, the first in well over week.

Tomorrow is date night, so wish me luck. I'm really hoping to know by the end of the night how I feel. It's already starting to consume my thoughts.

Taff - Oh no, I won't be running deserts any time soon, trust me. My gran is great, thank you for asking, that's very thoughtful of you. I phone her every Thursday and she fills me in on how her week has been. She's getting by just splendid.
Camelot - Glad you had a nice time.

    Good morning everyone :hello:
It's a bright and chilly morning here but the sun is out and I am sure it will warm up later, of course it doesn't help that the back door is wide open for the dogs to go out and run madly around the garden.

Steve is on a half day today and Phoebe has the day off so all my little chicks are home in the nest :D. Nothing planned today, just going to chill and maybe watch a film or two wrapped up in my new blankie.

Lilly has asked for pie for dinner tonight and fortunately I have a couple stashed in the freezer. I will just have a tiny piece as I am trying to get back onto healthy eating again after the birthday excesses :rotfl:.

RedRuby, I was shuddering just reading your post. I don't mind any creature as long as it has legs but OMG, snakes, I would be running out the door if any came near me. It was bad enough that my daughter told me yesterday when she was cleaning up for my birthday, she found a dried up slow worm under the dining room table :eek::eek:. Enjoy your day anyway xx

Well, I hope you all have a lovely day whatever you are up to, take care xx

Good morning and belated birthday wishes Dumpling.

It is cold but sunny. I need to clean but don't much feel like it so will probably just nuke the bathroom.

    Best wishes all

It's dry outside but cold and grey, shame as it was gorgeous yesterday.

I don't know how much of a Friday Tidy will be done today as we are heading to DD's this morning for coffee and then on to a local eatery for lunch. Our schools finish for Easter today but DD's finished yesterday so she is coming to lunch too. I'm looking forward to that as it's not often that we go together, just the 3 of us. Another plus is that there will be no tea to cook either :j.
SilverOldie I think that if you ring your provider they will be able tell you if there is a fault on their end or not. ( we have S*y, who are very helpful and they can tell us where the fault is ) Therein lies the total amount of my technical knowledge :rotfl:
Gers I have been a day ahead of myself all week, now you have not helped by saying have a "happy Saturday" :rotfl: Enjoy your home time and I'm glad that DM is feeling a little better.
Speky are you thinking happy thoughts about your date or are they worry thoughts ? I'm sure things will sort themselves out. Good luck anyway.
My thoughts are with the poorly people, those going through treatments or those struggling with life in general.
Take care and hugs to all

Gers, I'm glad your mum is feeling a bit better, enjoy your time with your friends.

Dumpling, I'm glad you had a lovely day yesterday.

Steve is in my bad books, he's not very well today but it's all his own fault, he's been overdoing it all week and yesterday was the final straw. He was brushing sand into the cracks of our long drive despite me asking him not to - he's such a stubborn so and so. I feel horrible because I'm not being in the least sympathetic but I'm very cross with him.

Today will be a Friday tidy and Ziggy walking. Laura is officially 12 weeks pregnant today so we are feeling optimistic that things will be ok.

dp1, that reminds me, is your granddaughter off the oxygen now?
