Court date set with Gladstones and just received “the claimants witness statement statement”

A bit of advice on what to do next would be great.

I received 2 penalty notices within a month for parking outside my university house in Hatfield. The first one a court date was set and then cancelled a few days before. The second one has taken nearly 2 years to get to this point. I need to send all documents I intend to use in court within a couple of weeks!

Show us your defence, what did you actually put in defence? EXACT WORDS.

Presumably this is about not displaying a permit or not parking within a bay, tell us more and tell us which scammer PPC you are fighting. Not Gladstones, who is the actual Claimant?

And show us your draft WS & evidence as explained with tips & links in the sticky thread (NO LINK GIVEN OR NEEDED - IF YOU ARE USING A PHONE, GET OFF IT & ON A PC!).

I think I may have messed up as I have not yet sent my documents which I will rely on in court, the date is set for May 1st. Will I now automatically loose?

How can i paste my witness statement and skeleton argument for you to check over?

Obviously just search the forum for late Witness Statement - we've seen EVERYTHING here before. It's not too late to file & serve a WS and evidence, so get on it!

Please let this thread die now and reply on your other one (more than once, if you get no reply and a day goes by).

Complain to your MP.

On 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these private parking companies. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, and persistent offenders denied access. Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers.

Until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.
