Rightio complaints not replying re botched boiler repair - what next?

Hi all
A bit of a long story but to give full background - we had a boiler breakdown cover policy with Scottish power, the boiler was not working properly so we called for a visit, Scottish Power had subcontracted Rightio to come out.
The boiler does the heating and a hot water tank - heating was working fine the fault was in the water tank heating.
The engineer replaced the part he thought it was after watching a video on how to do it! After he left the boiler started leaking A LOT! We had to turn the water off at the mains and called them to come back, this was 30 minutes after he had left and we had to wait until the following day as an engineer was not available!
He came back and told us he didn't know how to fix it and that the boiler would be a write off - we had an independent engineer out that afternoon and he said the job was a big one and agreed it was probably a write off but didn't know why he had replaced the parts he had initially as it was clearly not those parts.
New boiler purchased and installed.
I then complained to Rightio based on the above and they have been stalling me for months saying that they are investigating - I cant find anywhere or anyone else to escalate my complaint - does anyone have any ideas of what I should do next?
Sorry for the long post and thank you for any help or advice you can offer!
Thanks

You say your boiler cover is with Scottish Power. This is who you should be contacting, not the company Scottish Power have sent out to you. That's between Scottish Power and Rightio.
Your contract is with Scottish Power. Be firm but polite and ring them or, better still, write to them. That way you have a written record. Don't bother emailing them. Many companies ignore emails.
Once you have got things sorted, don't bother taking out another policy. Put the equivalent amount of money away for the purpose of repairs. You are unlikely to be out of pocket.0 -
Your breakdown policy is with Scottish Power, and they subcontracted it out to Rightio who seems to have messed you about a bit.
I assume you ended up getting a different company to supply and install a new boiler?
Rightio deemed it was unfixable, and couldn't do anything else. Their contract was with Scottish Power, and they probably just got paid for the callout, and marked it as complete. Complaining to them months after the event when they have no actual contract with you is a lost cause and a waste of time for both of you.
You could complain to Scottish Power who your policy is with about their subcontractor Rightio leaving you with a leaking boiler and not knowing how to fix it. You may get an apology from Scottish Power on behalf of Rightio and maybe refund (some of) the policy fees.0 -
Righto are a bunch of rip off cowboys, why anyone uses them I have no idea, I'm surprised alarm bells didn't start to ring when he asked you where he could tie up his horseI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0
