Simplicity Energy reviews: Give your feedback

  • I have to second all the comments here. Simplicity are an absolute nightmare. They rarely return emails, and it takes a very long time to phone.

I requested a check meter be installed in February 2020. This was only installed in September and removed in December. They object every time I switch, and give no reason why (other than to contact them). They did advise it was because my current balance was negative - despite them seemingly changing my direct debit on almost every meter read. However it was blocked again today, with my account in credit.

They briefly started responding to me when I opened an Ombudsman Complaint and offered a resolution - which they didn't make good on - but they appear to have stopped again. I'd certainly suggest people do not switch to them, purely on the basis it may potentially take months & Ombudsman intervention to leave them again.

Simplicity Energy Limited is ceasing to trade. Ofgem, the energy regulator, is appointing a new supplier for its customers.

Customers need not worry, their supplies are secure and domestic credit balances are protected.

Ofgem’s advice is not to switch, but to wait until they appoint a new supplier for you. This will help make sure that the process of handing customers over to a new supplier, and honouring credit balances, is as hassle free as possible for customers.
