neighbours raising the level of patio

Hello , can anyone help me with some advice please? My neighbours have an extension to their kitchen with an existing platform about a metre high next to my garden so they already overlook me . I have concealed it partially with a lot of bushes planted over the years. .I bought the house 20 years ago with this already in place. But now they want to raise the platform by " a step" so that is is flush with the new bifold doors they are planning . Not only will the open bifold increase the noise levels coming from their kitchen ( they are noisy enough in the garden!) but they will overlook me even more . They have suggested an opaque glass screen because they want to preserve light on their terrace but we think it will be out of keeping with the Edwardian buildings. Someone has mentioned that they might need planning permission to raise the level. I could object completely or just insist on putting up a high wooden fence. Any thoughts?

My former brother in law raised his decking to be level with the kitchen doors without planning permission. The neighbours reported him for the breach and he was swiftly ordered to take it down.0

Decking more than 30cm above ground level requires planning permission.

It might depend whether the existing platform counts as "ground level".0
