FIRST UTILITY has Changed

Hi there!

First Utility have informed me that they are now Shell Energy.

To be honest, I'm uncertain if they've merely changed their name, merged with Shell or been bought out by them?

I just know that when I hear the company Shell mentioned, I am filled with dread.

My tariff was renewed recently, and is still a good rate, but that was before Shell was in the picture.

Am I being a tad paranoid or should I be concerned?

This is old news. The official forum feedback thread has even been changed to say "Shell Energy". And there have been several other threads about this too.

As for what it is, well Shell (the really big oil company) has owned First Utility for the past year or so now. And Shell (really big oil company) have just renamed the company to have their name. It is legally the same company with the same staff, energy supply licences, tariffs, same legally binding contracts etc.
