Changing PCs with Ipod

Hi

My old PC has virtually given up the ghost, so I now have a laptop.

Can I move all the stuff in my Itunes to the new PC easily, or do I have to use some sort of proprietary software?

Any ideas would be appreciated

(I have a 20gig Ipod and only have about 8 gig loaded on the PC)

Thanks for your help

Just copy your iTunes music folder over (check where it is stored in the iTunes preferences) to the new one and put it in the same place. Then make sure iTunes on the new laptop has the same music folder set in the preferences.

    It's that easy!

PS there are couple of good utilities for other purposes which you might find handy:

TuneJack - it's made essentially to backup all the music stored on an iPod, especially when you've accidentally ruined your library on the PC, you can restore it easily.

    Another great utility is: MediaMonkey

    Hello,

I had to replace my pc aswell, I searched the net and found some useful software that copies the songs from your ipod to your computer.

It is called iDump, I got it free from downloads.com (i think) Dont pay for any software! its free! Its fairly quick too.

    I hope this helps.
