Credit club score update glitch

Options
Has anyone else had issues with their credit score not updating in credit club. I'm aware that my score won't necessarily change each month but I've paid over £3000 off my credit cards in the past month so would expect a change. This happened to me once before also.

As it's the 10th of the month and I still hadn't received my email notification about my new credit report, I decided to login to see if it had updated. I was prompted to confirm if my personal information was correct, as it normally does when logging in for a new credit report. Once logged in I was presented with the exact same score as last month. This happened to me once before when I logged in before receiving the email prompt. Both times it was unusually late not to have received the email prompt regarding the new report being available.

Has this happened that anyone else? Any ideas on what could be going on?

Many thanks

Hi and welcome to the forum :)

Has all the data held in your Experian credit file been updated?

It really doesn't matter. They change the algorithms from time to time to make things interesting and keep the addiction levels high.

Just make sure the data is correct.
  • My credit balances aren't correct. I'm guessing there's a delay between me paying and the credit card companies informing the referencing agencies.

It's frustrating as I'm planning on buying a new van but I'm waiting on my credit score improving a bit more before doing it. Thought I'd be well on my way this month.

Don't worry about your credit score. Lenders never see your score and never use it.

A lender credit scores you against their independent criteria and policies using:
    • The data held in your credit file(s)
    • The data you submit in your credit application
    • The data already held by the lender if you are an existing or returning customer

Just make sure the data held in your credit files as accurate.

Just tell the lender you've got a great score.

    They'll never know...
  • The "score" always updates later than the date on the Credit Club - it's a known issue and has been around for a long time.

The actual report will still update on the correct date.

The balances will also be correct as of the time that your creditors send their updates to the CRA's.

Ignore the score, it's not a real thing
  • Thanks for the info everyone.

Absolutely wondering why it says next update on 6th April ... it's now the 11th!
  • It doesn’t matter anyway.

I can make up a number for you now if you like?

It would be as meaningful as the one from the Credit Club

I would say wait at least a month after paying off debts for it to be reflected on your credit report.

It can take longer, depending on your creditors reporting date to the CRA.
