We sold a property to our daughter one year ago. She is now looking to sell and it appears the Land Registry still reflects our details - one year on. I have contacted the solicitors she used but they have not replied to me yet. Who is at fault and how can I get them to the the job we paid for?

It would make more sense for her to contact them, unless you were also their client - they shouldn't be giving out details to non-clients.russellward wrote: »I have contacted the solicitors she used0 -
Generally i would say that it is the solicitors who are at fault here. Land Registry are usually very good and although it can sometimes take some time, i wouldn't expect it to take a year if the solicitors applied for the change0

Did she use a mortgage for the purchase? Has the mortgage been registered?
Assuming she instructed solicitors tocomplete the purchase for her that should have included registration with the LR.
Of course, registration cannot happen till HMRC have been paid any SDLT- was that done? Was that your daughter's job or the solicitor's?
Your daughter needs to
* ensure she knows what her solicitors were instructed (and paid!) to do, and then if appropriate
* follow the solicitor's published complaints procedure0 -

Once you or your daughter have confirmed things with the solicitor then I'd suggest sharing those details here as appropriate
If they are at fault then they'll have a complaints procedure as posted by others. If they are not then we can comment further. If it's us then share the title number on here“Official Company Representative
