I had my asda grocery delivery today and I'm disgusted. I bought ASDA Slow Cooked Lamb Shank in Red Wine, Redcurrant & Mint Gravy and it's 'use by 02 April' Today is the 10th April!. I have requested a refund online but still, really disappointed. Alway check your dates!

Dates should always be checked when you receive your shopping as mistakes can happen. I have had things use by the day that my shopping is delivered and I always get a refund on those.
I would call the store though and ask why you were something 8 days out of date for them to investigate.
I did that once will out of date chicken I received and they came and picked it up, did an investigation and sent me vouchers.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. If you hold onto it, there's another 02 April next year!0

Is it wrong to expect store staff to check dates as they pick?
I think supplying a 'use by' item over a week out of date is very poor and I'd definitely complain.0 -

In theory yes they should check the dates but as usual the staff are under pressure to get the orders picked and move onto the next lot.0
