Phillip Schofield has just given out a number on ITV for the elderley to get a 'free winter warmer pack'
However, he has stated the 0870    number is a local call so won't cost much
I hope they stamp on this straight away and everyone gets refunded.
0870 is so expensive

Hi Frugal,
Well spotted! You'd think after all the recent scandals about tv phone charges that they'd be more careful.
I'll move this over to the vent board where you should get more replies.

It's apparently Help the Aged that's offering the free "Your Winter Warm Up" pack.
Their geographic phone number is 02072781114 (courtesy of saynoto0870.com)
Though I have to say it doesn't sound like much of an offering.
'The Partnership will be giving older people some of the tools they need to do just that, by distributing free “Your Winter Warm Up” packs with fresh information, advice and one telephone number for claiming benefits, along with free thermometers to ensure older people receive the financial and practical support they need to enjoy a warm and healthy winter.'

What are the pensioners supposed to do? Burn the leaflets and thermometers to keep warm?

Am I the only one who thinks that the annual £200 winter fuel allowance buys quite a lot of winter warmth?
Now dont shout I am a very nearly pensioner, so feel qualified to ask that question. There again I do live in the far south west so perhaps am lucky not to have the bills of people who live elsewhere. Having said that , having in my working life , worked many years with the elderly, I know that a lot of the fuel allowance was spent elsewhere, as in family etcAway with the fairies.... Back soon0
