Recently switched energy and found out my meter reading was wrong
Options
I have recently brought a house and switched energy as soon as possible. I submitted the meter readings (correctly) for the switch.
It has been a month since the switch and I have submitted my new meter readings, but my gas is now lower than at the time of the switch! The switch gas reading is detailed as 3528. My current gas reading is 3304.
I have paid the outstanding balance with the previous provider, which was a lot higher than I anticipated but I paid it as I was just happy to switch.
I am unsure how to proceed with this situation? Should I email my provider or is that likely to start a large process that wont be worth the effort?
I would appreciate any advise. Please let me know if you need any more details.
Thank you.

On the good news side you will have paid less in your old suppliers tariff than your new suppliers.
It's a small amount - I would use 200 units in less than 6 months. I wouldn't bother to submit a reading until your are actually over the one you supplied.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0
