Is PPI time barred

I had PPI under my GE money card which was subsequently a Santander Cards UK Ltd. I've had a letter from Santander and this is their response " We consider your complaint as against SCUKL is time barred because under general legal principles you have 15 years from point of sale of the PPI to bring a mis-selling claim. Over 15 years has passed since the date you purchased your PPI and as you did not bring your mis-selling claim at court against SCUKL we consider your complaint time barred" Is this correct?

Was this a store card perhaps?0

Santander have started doing this with store cards, assuming it meets the 3, 6 and 15 year rules then your complaint is over.
Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

There is no 15 year rule from the FCA. Just the 3/6 year rule. However, a number of Storecards that Santander currently has liability on were not regulated by the FCA. The 15 year period is for legal action.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
