MSE Advice Left Me Out of Pocket

Options
Following MSE’s advice to switch my energy supplier sooner rather than later due to my current (& cheaper) tariff running out on 15th April, Shell Energy (First Utility) have switched me 6 days before my current (& cheaper) tariff runs out leaving me paying the newer (& more expensive) tariff for those 6 days.

I specified the date my current tariff runs out in my application on the MSE site but this has been ignored by Shell or not passed on by MSE in the first place.

I was only informed yesterday by Shell that I would be switched today and the 14-day cooling off period has now passed so I can’t do anything about it. Extremely disappointed as following MSE’s advice has resulted in me losing money.

Presumably you expect to save money from the switch overall, otherwise you'd have stayed with your first supplier? Otherwise why switch at all?

Does your 6 days worth of slightly higher tariff minus what you'd have been paying out anyway really merit extreme disappointment?
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.
  • but MSE have made money , thats what its all about
