Used Car Issues - Guidance appreciated

Hi,
Purchased a Nissan Qashqai (2015 - 40k miles) for £12,000 from Car Giant in late October 2018. Noticed a faint whistling noise a couple of weeks later but was advised by a mechanic that it was probably an air leak. Performance wasn't impacted so carried on as normal, looking for any signs during my weekly fluid checks.
Had a full service on Friday and asked to garage to investigate. Nothing identified on service except the predictable (pads & discs). Car was making a new noise when I was driving home after service so returned to the garage on Saturday morning to be advised numerous potential causes. Didn't make it home from the garage on Saturday as I broke down on route.
Turns out the turbo has failed and quotes range from £1,800 - £2,700. Have discussed with the garage but they don't seem to be interested as turbo isn't listed on full service checklist and despite being told by the branch manager and area manager that the technician should have identified it, they didn't so not their problem.
After any advice on whether there is anything I can do?
Paid for service on CC so could I make an s75 claim for not investigating the noise reported (I.e. not carried out with reasonable care or skill) - £170.
Paid for car by DC so no s75, but within 6 months so under CRA is for cargiant to prove the fault wasn't there prior to purchase..?
Thanks in advance

Forgot to add - not looking to return, just repair. Currently without a car so need to arrange a prompt repair at a reasonable price. Will I need a report for the works carried out for any potential compensation from cargiant?0

Hi.
Welcome.
It's quite unusual to get new car issues on this forum, but weve had two recently.
Would this be better moved to the motoring board.0 -
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (which this purchase falls under), any fault identified in the first 6 months* is presumed to be inherent and it is for the seller to prove otherwise. If Car Giant won't do anything then raise a S75 claim.
* Late April 2019 would be the end of 6 months.0 -
So after a few calls to car giant and a chat with citizens advice, car giant are collecting the car and investigating the issue.
I can resonate that you need to know your rights and be persistent because the first 2 advisors tried to fob me off, but the manager was very pleasant and helpful...
Will update on outcome for future trawlers 🤞0 -
Finally got my car back yesterday! It may have taken them 7 weeks and cost them quite a bit in rental cars, but it saved me thousands in repairs.
They replaced the engine, turbo, starter motor, stop start system, filters and gaskets and fusible link. They also gave me a 12 month / 12,000 mile warranty.
Thanks to these great forums and you savvy money savers, I had the confidence and knowledge to push for my rights and I estimate it saved me around £8,000 in repairs 0 -
Ah a Nissan CashCow rated in the top 10 worst second hand vehicles by What Car
