Issued a PCN even though I have the ticket at Adelphi hotel Liverpool.

Hi, I am not sure if this is the correct place for advice or if I even need advice but here goes.
I parked in the Adelphi hotel Liverpool carpark 26.3.19 and purchased a ticket for £3 which entitled me to 3hrs stay.
I placed the ticket in the window and after attending to my business was gone from the carpark after 2hrs 19mins (arrived 15.43 depart 18.03).
I entered the correct reg into the ticket machine which printed out my correct reg into the ticket plus correct arrival time.
On 5.4.19 I received a PCN from ParkingEye asking for a parking charge amount of £100 to be paid within 28 days or a reduced amount of £60 if paid within 14 days.
I can't see anywhere on the letter I have received why the penalty has been issued as I bought a ticket which I still had 41 minutes remaining on when I left the carpark plus the ticket was on display on the dashboard.
Any help would be appreciated, do I just ignore this and if it goes all the way to court just turn up and say "taa daa" and produce the ticket, does anyone know if this is a frequent occurrence at this particular carpark.
Once again thanks for any help.

very foolish to ignore, that leads to a court case in your local court
appeal as KEEPER (not driver) on their website , using the blue text template from the NEWBIES thread, adding a paragraph that
The driver bought and paid for a valid ticket for 3 hours and a copy is attached
attach the picture of the ticket, keep the paid for ticket safe, just in case
that car park is notorious, yes
a judge will not be pleased if you could have killed this off at initial appeal, or at POPLA , first and second , lastly wasting the courts time could cost you dear0 -
Thank you for your reply.
I will appeal as the driver paid and displayed and I have the evidence that the driver has done so, it's just a pain the you know what.
I assume this is how they make there money hoping that the driver had binned the ticket and the keeper will just cough up.
Anybody else reading this do not dispose of your parking ticket when you leave the carpark or ParkingEye will issue you with one of the dodgy PCN's.0 -
please check the exact reg numbers .... ie I and 1 O and 0

I have edited your post below , so you know how to speak about these matters, so please edit your posts so PE do not know who the driver isowonowonga wrote: »Thank you for your reply.

YOU ARE CORRECT IN YOUR ASSUMPTIONS
and the only 2 words that should be used are DRIVER and KEEPER
NOT "MY , ME , MYSELF & I"
never blab about who was driving , especially not on internet forums that parking companies read and take screenshots0 -
Cheers guys for your input it is much appreciated.
I've just checked the ticket the driver received from the machine and the PCN received from ParkingEye and the vehicle reg numbers on both are identical.
Ultimately it is ParkingEye who are in the wrong about this situation and the fact that the driver has to do the running around after these con merchants is what makes me so angry.
Either they have a dodgy/nonworking ticket machine at this carpark which hopefully my appeal will highlight to them or these companies really are the low life pond scum we all believe and they are just trying to fleece honest hard working people out of money.0 -
their business model has nothing to do with parking , its all about issuing high value invoices for perceived rule breaking, or even for legitimate ones like yours where money was paid up front as well
miskeying the VRM details , plus overstaying , are the 2 main ones , but not in your case , so I am mystified as to why they have done this0 -

Show this evidence to Steve Clark at the BPA and ask him to investigate a potential flaw in the system and unaudited site with faulty machines:

Only if you are SURE £3 gets 3 hours and not just two? Check the signs again first.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
