Help! Bitlord saving files to an location that dosent exist!

Hi All

Well as the above says really. Have had a vista pc for about a month now so have started downloading stuff as usual. However, when i set it to save to a certain location, once downloaded it saves it to a location "it" wants to that doesent exist so i cannot open the file and all I have is the bittorrent where i asked to save the whole download.

Have been using bitlord and torrents for over 2 years on previous XP pc with no probs - any ideas why its happening with vista and how to retrieve my downloads.

Any help will be very gratefully received at this end.

  • have a look here

c:\users\<username>\appdata (this is hidden you need to set hidden files as "show" in control panel)\..\virtual store\bitlord\downloads\

Since vista can't directly access program files, it puts the data into a Virtual Store folder. No application can directly write files under program files anymore. Since Bitlord tries to do so, it couldn't write. So vista redirects all the downloads Appdata\..\virtualstore\ folder that should be where you find your downloads
