There are lots of incorrect linked addresses on my credit file. Some are clearly just errors (wrong house number) and one is an address I have never heard of.
I have queried each of these with Experian and they have come back on each and every one of them stating that the company associated has said the information is correct.
They have said I would need to contact each of the companies with proof I didn't live there.
How the hell do you prove you DIDN'T live somewhere?
Does this really matter - will it affect anything?
Some of these addresses are from years ago so I have no proof/documentation that I lived there now.

Contact them and tell them you've never lived there.
It really makes no odds in the scheme of things0 -
That's all I really need to know. One FA told me having loads of addresses on my credit file doesn't look good to lenders. I rented for years so no fault of mine. The extra addresses are all mistakes.
If it makes no odds then I probably won't bother.0 -
Here's the thing: when you log on to Experian, or whichever third party provider you're using, can you see the name of the company that submitted the erroneous address? If so, and you're wanting to correct it, point out to the company in question that under GDPR they have an obligation to ensure personal data is correct. If THEY can't prove that you lived there, then they have no alternative but to remove the record. Threaten then with the ICO if they fail to act.0

Oh really?? Nice one, I will try that. It is annoying they have just said the information is correct so won't change it. WHEN IT IS NOT CORRECT!0 -
I have two amusing linked addresses on my Experian credit file.
My address with house number is linked to my address without house number (ie the entire street).
My address without house number (ie the entire street) is linked to my address with house number.
So if my address was 22 High Street, Anytown the links are from
22 High Street, Anytown to High Street, Anytown
and High Street, Anytown to 22 High Street, Anytown.
I have never used my address without house number; it is not a house with a name or anything like that.
This had had no effect on my ability to obtain credit and Experian continue to score me 999.
The two links was put there by my bank several (more than 6) years ago.0 -

Ha well mine are similar. I lived at number 45 but they have number 40 for one address. Another company has no 18 when I lived at 17. It just irritates me that when I query it, they say its correct and they won't change it. I'm still gonna contact them, just for the fact its annoying me.0
