Garden Log Cabin Advice

Hi folks

Just wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a log cabin company? Preferably with installation.

I've read through older threads, looks like Dunster House and Kybotech are ones to avoid, and tuin cabinville garden life ok, but hoping for up to date/recent experiences.

Many thanks

  • What sort of thing are you after? A literal log cabin that you can use when the weather is nice or a proper garden room for all year round use? What’s yours budget?

I got a Dunster House log cabin and had a great experience.
I built it myself and it was good value and has had a lot of compliments.
I had a couple of minor issues that the company sorted out quickly.

We had one from Woodlands - it was a few years ago but we were impressed with the installation and it's lasted well.
Are you hoping to use it as more than as shed - ours is uninsulated so can get warm in summer and cold in winter!
  • We're looking for an insulated cabin, 4 to 5m wide and 3m depth, that would be suitable all year.

Budget? Growing! Probably around £5-7k including installation/electrics if we can!

Originally I looked at local supplier for Mercia products, around £4000, but after looking a little more deeply, this is the current favourite.

The Sheds website had discounts of a few hundred pounds, around Christmas, but also a flash message, as you leave the website, ofering 10% off installation.

Just like Pramsay13 I went the Dunster House way. ..

Our cabin has been well made, everything just really slots together. I selected the thicker walls which came with double-glazed doors and windows. I also had floor and roof insulation. They do double-walled cabins and wall insulation.

They have a very wide selection, have sites where you can view the built up cabins and can provide most services.

One word of caution though. If you have them build they require 1.5m clearance on all sides for Health and Safety. This was a big no-no as I wanted the cabin to fit in a certain area and couldn't 'waste' the space.

I suggest you have a look at their website.
