Paid wrong card.

I recently made a full payment thinking I was doing it early - but it was actually close to the DD date - and so they took the full payment as well - resulting in me being £291 in credit. I contacted them on a separate matter as I hadn't realised the double payment had taken place, and they told me about it and offered a next day transfer back to my account, or to leave it there and spend it. (I asked them to transfer it back) - that was Capital One.0

Which card is it? If you tell us there will probably be someone with experience with that card. I can tell you that the halifax clarity card goes into credit without any problems.
It's a Vanquis Gold (I went bankrupt nine years ago so needed to rebuild my rating, not paid a penny in interest since and now have others). It's being shown online as a credit balance now so no problem; apart from the fact I'm on holiday in the Highlands and Islands so it's disappearing fast:).“Procrastination is my middle name....well it would be if I could be ar**d to contact Deed Poll."0
