Only you need to sign the DOV giving up part of your inheritance to your two children. Neither your children nor your brother need to sign.
It does not need to be a Deed (signed in presence of a witness) but doing so will add to its authenticity should a query ever arise.
I assume you or your 15yr old's other parent would need to hold their inheritance on trust until they were 18.0 -

Does the question about any impact on IHT refer only to tour mother’s estate (ie there is no more or less IHT to pay) or does it also refer to the potential impact on our own (ie the DoV takes some money from our estate)?0 -
