Mobile Tyre Fitting Time Slot

I like how I'm being cross-examined her, but okay let's roll with it.
I said I was in the middle of leaving the house at 2:40. I expected to leave the house at around 3pm to go to the train station.
Given that the max time I expected them to arrive was 2pm and knowing how long it takes to change the tyre, was it really that unreasonable to expect to be able to leave the house at 3pm?
How long did it take the fitter to actually do the job and leave?0 -
I'm guessing the op has kids. That's mine and micheal macintyres experience anywayAylesbury_Duck wrote: »You either move incredibly slowly or have an enormous house if it takes you 40 minutes to leave it

A very similar thing happened to me. I had booked for a tyre fitter to fit a pair of new tyres one evening however he was running late. This stopped me from going out to buy my weekly lottery ticket. Unfortunately, that was the week that my numbers came up and I missed out on a £10 million jackpot.
I successfully sued the tyre company for £10 million plus costs.0 -

In the car that needed the new tyre? Yes, or at least very bold. Even if he turned up in the slot you'd not be leaving much margin for error at all and that bit you.
I assume most trade jobs will start an hour late and take an hour longer than expected.
I'd be stunned if they didn't have clauses about delays. They'd need to factor in traffic, jobs taking longer and so on so to give you a cast iron slot they'd need to charge a small fortune.0 -
If I had a slot booked for 12-2pm and I knew I had to leave home at 3pm, then I would be leaving at 3pm. If the fitter then turned up at 2.37pm I would have told him to go away and expect them to rearrange or refund.0

My day went like clockwork today but I was still 15 minutes late to my last delivery out of 5. Because some people decided to run into each other and close the M62 at one of the worst places in the middle of rush hour I was 2.5hrs over my planned time of arrival back at base 40 miles away.Given that the max time I expected them to arrive was 2pm and knowing how long it takes to change the tyre, was it really that unreasonable to expect to be able to leave the house at 3pm?
If you're the first few appointments in a morning there is a high probability they'll arrive within the slot. If you're after dinnertime and getting towards mid-afternoon there's a real probability they'll be late. This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
