New vinyl floor installed and creased!

I had a new vinyl flooring fitted a week ago. It had creses all over, really deep marks right in the middle of the kitchen
I complained straight away and was told to wait a day for it to adjust. I did and there was no improvment. I complained again and was told to wait a few days, which I did, and again no improvment. Today they send the installer back which put more glue under the sheet and tried to fob my partner off by saying that we have to walk on it for a few weeks before it will flatten. I do not agree, the dents are deep and unlikely to go away. I don't want to install a new kitchen on it, and then find out that the very visible marks don't go away.
The fitters were supplied by the company, it was one invoice, one single payment. In my opinion it wasn't the fitting that was badly done, but they carried the vinyl in a folded roll up the stairs! Obviously causing major creses along the folded line. As far as I am concerned it was supplied already marked. I want a replacement or my money back. What would be my next step, call them yet again, or send them an email? I am abroad because of a family emergency and cannot send a printed letter.

Have you any pics you can share?0

Dents would indicate it has been laid on an uneven floor, what type of surface was it laid on?0

I take it you mean crease marks, when you say dents?0

Yes, I mean creases. These were created by the sheet (one single sheet) been folded in two while rolled. When they unrolled it, it had creses all along the folded line, and it was fitted straight away. I mentioned my concern about the creases before it was even fitted, while they were fitting it and afterwords, as they were so visible. It was fitted over a totally flat concrete floor. I have photos, I'll try to post them0

As far as I know, vinyl should never have a fold inside a roll. It has been mispacked if it has. A good fitter would have refused to fit the vinyl because it will never be right. They would have taken the roll back to the shop and the shop would have got new stock from the manufacturer.
I think you have been sold some second hand vinyl that has been put back on a roll by a dodgy trader.
Do you have anyone in the UK who you could send the text that you want to write in a letter and who could print this off and put it in an envelop for you? If not, email them, and send a letter when you return.
I would suggest that you push hard for the vinyl to be replaced. Ask them to respond via email within 5 working days, explain you are out of the country and that a friend has posted it for you. If they don't respond, send a "Letter Before Action" so you can take them to court. Hopefully one of these two letters will result in the flooring being replaced.
Bear in mind that the owner of the shop may not know what you have told us - that the vinyl was folded on the roll. I would suggest you assume that they don't know, so make sure you tell them - this may offer them a way to admit defeat gracefully. The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0 -
Thank you, I'll do that.0
