Deceased Father PPI

Hello All,
My Dad passed in October 2009 and had a number of
PPI policies on Loans and Cards.
He was diagnosed diabetic in 1991, had a quadruple heart bypass in 1997
and was self employed. In 2006 and 2008 he suffered amputations.
A number of the loans and cards stretch from 1991 to 2008.
Their was no probate or will and I was Executor.
He'd attempted to go after the PPI in 2008 on the advice
of CAB but his complaint was rejected.
Do I have any basis for complaint?
I know their are many who read these forums who can offer advice.
Thank you

Nothing you've said suggests any mis sale.
You also have the age of the accounts against you. Most will be pre regulation and there will likely be no records remaining.
Also, if his complaints were previously rejected, you can't make a new complaint.0 -
As already advised, there was a period of six months after the rejections in which there was still access to the FOS to review... as this window has been and long gone there is nothing further you can do I’m afraid.0

You can phone and ask the companies involved if you like. They may have deleted any info so there's nothing left but you won't know until you try.
They will ask you for proof you can complain on his behalf and you must stick to factual reasons you can't say he was told he had to have it, he didn't know he had it etc.
If he wasn't working when he took it out then it would have been useless, and single premium is still a good reason for loans especially on a consolidated chain of loans.
They may send a rejection letter, but they should still look at whether Plevin applies to anything.
This is assuming that he used high street banks or lenders that were covered by regulations. Anything taken out prior to 2005 with companies that were not high street banks or BS's are not likely to have been covered.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -

I doubt there will be any record of finance from a customer deceased for a decade, but that may work in the OP's favour in that there will also be no record of the eleven-year-old PPI complaint either. If the OP has comprehensive documentation, therefore, it might be worth a final punt.
However, Plevin will definitely not apply because, as the OP points out, the old finance was complained about in 2008 which puts it outside the scope of Plevin.
So the OP should expect nothing and so won't be disappointed.0
