    In relation to renting, sheltered housing could be a consideration, maybe worth your mother taking a look. Some authorities have difficulty letting their sheltered because there is so much of it around. A lot of home owners think they cannot be considered or that it is a care home but there are some good ones. In addition some are of bungalow type and being social housing would provide security. It may also be possible to get bungalow accommodation from some housing associations direct depending on where in the midlands you are.
