    The last time I had a coil spring changed it cost less than a hundred quid (on a fiesta). Is it worth just "taking it on the chin" and getting it done somewhere else rather than potentially waste money on alternative transport for 2 weeks?

    Yes, as the car had done 15K miles & I'd hit a serious pothole - the offside was perfectly fine.

    Call your breakdown cover, its unsafe and undriveable. They can deliver you a loan car till the dealer supplies a courtesy car.

    It's been sorted, just took a lot longer than it should have done really. They've supplied me with a car until mine has been repaired due to the wait on the part.

    Yes, as the car had done 15K miles & I'd hit a serious pothole - the offside was perfectly fine.

    Well i suppose as long as you used a genuine replacement spring then it would match the other side pretty well and wouldn't cause any issues.
