EDF exit fees
Having done a energy comparison on the cheaper energy club, I was informed that if i swapped from the EDF fixed Nov19v5 to the fixed EDF Jun 20 I could save over £100.
However upon logging into my account and clicking change tariff , there was no mention of the June 20 deal.
Upon further investigation I was horrified to find that if I left one tariff for another , even though I i stayed with EDF i would still need to pay £ 70 exit fees.
I'm just posting this to inform anyone who may be thinking of joining EDF. So please don't say " you should of read the terms and conditions "
Personally I think energy firms are on par with organised crime, it's high time someone sorted them out

A lot of tariffs are only available via switching sites, not an exclusive issue with EDF.
As for the exit fees, these are very clearly stated when you take out a contract and also appear every time you do a tariff comparison on the EDF MyAccount web pages.
These fees are specific to the tariff, not the company in general.0 -
I recently switched within EDF and paid no exit fees. I do this every year, when EDF offer another online paperless tariff. Having been with EDF a long time, I have never paid the exit fee and I always ensure that I don't have to, by closely scrutinising the T&C's.I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.

Hi folks, I just searched this subject and found this thread. Robisere, how do you switch tariffs without incurring the exit fee? Do you just transfer using the switch option in the My Account section?A big believer in karma, you get what you give :A
If you find my posts useful, "pay it forward" and help someone else out, that's how places like MSE can be so successful.0 -
I guess by doing it within 45 days of the tarriff ending.
EDF are still charging exit fee's if you change tarrif with them.0 -

If he accepts what he is offered each year by EDF, he will not be getting the exclusive EDF tariffs offered by comparison sites.
He will also be missing out on cashback, so his lazy way is certainly not money saving even if he wishes to remain a loyal mug with EDF!0
